Affinity shook up the creative world last year when it released its fully featured free photo editing software in collaboration with Canva. Less than a year on since the initial launch, the first major update is here with a new Convert to Curves feature, a brighter workspace option and Live Tone Blend Groups alongside other workflow refinements.
After high demand, the user interface brightness can now be fine-tuned to suit your editing preferences and work better with the available lighting. Affinity also polished up the practical workflow by adding the new Convert to Curves feature in its vector menu. This option can turn any pixel selection into an editable vector curve, handy for creating logos from image cut-outs.
You can use the new Live Tone Blend Groups to quickly match colours with the base layers while creating photo composites. Select the new items you want to blend and add them as a Live Tone Blend Group to adjust colours dynamically and non-destructively.
Other workflow refinements include new right-click menus for instant access to the brush library and faster document tab management.
