Vibrant, quirky, and just a little bit kitsch – this is Americana at its finest.

This new edition of an Elliott Erwitt classic is a fresh compilation of the well-known photographer’s colour work.
Drawn from an archive consisting of nearly half a million Kodachrome slides, the 304 pages of this volume reveal that the photographer’s embracing of colour was truly something remarkable.

There’s a huge variety of different topics on display, including world leaders, bustling marketplaces, military camps, from an array of different locations, from Las Vegas to Venice, showing that Erwitt was no one trick pony.
The thread that holds all of the work together is a keen sense of humour, which is clearly fairly dry and at times even borders on the surreal or absurd.

If you’re already a fan of Erwitt’s work but haven’t seen much of his colour output, this is a must-buy for your shelf. Personally, while I love his black and white stuff, I think this book, with its bold and vibrant slides is much more joyful to behold.
