Samyang announced a new 35mm F1.8 lens to its compact Prima line up. It provides solid entry for those looking for an affordable full-frame Sony FE-mount lens.

At 216g it is remarkably lightweight, the compact plastic body houses 10 lens elements in 8 groups including two aspherical and an XHR (Extra High Refractive) one which helps reduce optical aberrations. It also benefits from a UMC II (Ultra Multi Coating II) to suppresses flare and ghosting, for better contrast while photographing backlit or night scenes. A new USB-C port is included on the mount to to deploy firmware updates.
Linear STM II supports video and vlogging with a quiet and fast autofocus operation. As a lighter and more compact alternative to the Samyang 35mm F1.4 FE, the AF 35mm F1.8 P FE provides a natural perspective, ideal for various subjects like street, travel or portraiture, while also useful for vlogging and video work. Thanks to its compact size it pairs well with full-frame cameras such as the Sony A7C series or the vlogging focused Sony ZV-E10 II.
