Peak Design has unveiled a new set of travel bags on Kickstarter, which are designed to be compatible with the firm’s Camera Cubes, so you can use them for transporting your photographic kit. There’s a Peak Design Travel Backpack 2-in-1, which can be split into two smaller backpacks; a Travel Weekender 20L shoulder/duffel bag; and a Travel Backpack 20L. They’re joined by a small Travel Crossbody 3L bag.
Looking first at the Travel Backpack 2-in-1, this comprises a 34L main pack (55.5cm x 33cm x 14cm) and 16L daypack (50cm x 33cm x 7cm) which can zip together neatly to form a single larger unit. The main pack will accommodate one Large Camera Cube, and both sections have laptop pockets, hidden AirTag pockets, and mesh water bottle pockets on both sides.
Turning our attention to the Peak Design Travel Weekender, as its name suggests this is designed for 1 or 2-night trips. It sports a pair of grab handles plus a removable padded shoulder strap. It measures an airline carry-on friendly 47cm x 32cm x 22.5cm, and will hold a Smedium Camera Cube, 16in laptop and 14in tablet inside.
As for the Travel Backpack 20L, this measures 46cm x 20cm x 14.5cm and can be expanded to 21cm deep. It’ll hold a Smedium Camera Cube and has a sleeve for a 16in laptop plus a hidden water bottle pocket. A Travel Tripod can be carried externally.
Last but not least, the Peak Design Travel Crossbody 3L bag looks perfect for organising small items such as your passport, phone and headphones. But it could also accommodate a small compact camera such as the Ricoh GR IV.
All the bags will be available in a choice of Sage, Stone, and Black, with the Crossbody 3L also coming in Eclipse (deep red). They’re initially available on Kickstarter at reduced prices, but set to go on direct sale to customers on 2nd June.

Kickstarter note:
As always with Kickstarter, technically you’re not buying a product, but supporting a campaign that may or may not actually deliver anything. There is a risk of losing your money. But Peak Design has a long and unblemished record of delivering new products this way, including its recent Roller Pro case and Pro Tripods range. So this is about as safe as you can get.
