Tamron has announced the 35-100mm F/2.8 Di III VXD (Model A078) lens. Designed for portrait and travel photography, this fast-aperture zoom is available in full-frame Sony E and Nikon Z mounts
It’s a relatively light and compact standard zoom with a consistent f/2.8 aperture and comes in at a competitive £799.99 for both Sony E and Nikon Z mount versions.
In the US, the E-mount version will sell for $899 and $929 for the Z-mount version.
‘The 35-150mm F/2-2.8 Di III VXD (Model A058), launched in 2021, earned strong praise as a high-end portrait zoom,’ notes Tamron. ‘While highly acclaimed for its imaging performance, some users have wished for a lighter, more compact option.
Developed in response to user demand, the 35-100mm F/2.8 Di III VXD (Model A078) focuses on the most essential portrait focal lengths.’
The new lens design also provides an appealing bokeh effect, Tamron claims, and the company has also applied its BBAR-G2 coating to minimise ghosting and flare in backlit scenes. The result is high contrast and stable image quality from 35mm to 100mm, even in backlit or high-contrast shooting situations.
