Get your daily dose of inspiration with these fantastic photographers with remarkable feeds

It’s easy to become overwhelmed with the amount of “content” that is available online today.
Instagram is full of all sorts of things, not all of it good (in fact far from it), but if you carefully curate who you choose to follow it can also be wonderfully inspirational.
Here are just a few of the amazing women photographers who I follow on Instagram, with their posts inspiring me every time I open the app. If you’ve got any suggestions that aren’t included on this list, please do feel free to let us know!
Amak Mahmoodian
This incredible contemporary photographer is currently one of the shortlisted artists for the 2026 Deutsche Borse Photography Prize. She’s also an educator and a researcher, too. Follow her feed for her fantastic work, as well as the latest information on when she’s speaking, exhibiting or lecturing – these are events well worth catching if you can.
Soo Burnell
It’s easy to fall in love with Soo’s images. Vibrant, slightly surreal, striking, colourful – all of these words apply and more. Follow to add a dash of colour to your feed with her meticulously crafted pool scenes.
Carolyn Mendelsohn
Multi-award winning portrait photographer Carolyn Mendelsohn is one of the best working in her field today. Always with a project on the go, her feed brings you up to date with her latest work and exhibitions.
Anna Fox
One of the leading lights of feminist photography, Anna Fox is a force to be reckoned with. Her career now spans multiple decades and she was an early pioneer of using bright colour for documentary work, too.
Mandy Barker
Known for her absolutely stunning work to create awareness of marine plastic pollution, Mandy Barker has spent the past two decades creating beautiful pieces of art from that which is washed up on our shores. Follow for inspiration, but prepare for some humbling too.
Lynsey Addario
Following Pulitzer-prize winning war photographer is also a humbling experience. Travelling the globe to visit some of the world’s most dangerous places, Addario’s images are full of humanity and hope, despite the subject matter.
Kirsty McKay
Documentary photographer Kirsty McKay describes herself as a storyteller. A quick glance through her Instagram feed and you can easily see why. Probably one of the most important documentarians working right now, her work is as beautiful as it is profound.
Dimpy Bhalotia
The street photography you’ll see on Dimpy Bhalotia’s feed is sublime – and much of it is taken using smartphones too. Dimpy is also the founder of the fantastic Pure Street Photography collective, too.
Lydia Goldblatt
One of the most moving projects that I’ve come across in recent years, Lydia Goldblatt’s “Fugue” series revealed her as a talent to pay attention to. The tranquillity of found moments is reflected throughout her feed.
Aida Muleneh
The founder of the Africa Foto Fair has quite frankly a remarkable Instagram feed. With bright and bold colours, every time I come across one of these pictures I’m stopped in my tracks. An absolute must-follow.
